Crisis Intervention Hotline

Crisis Interventionists are available to provide a listening ear, assist with problem solving stressful situations, assess need for referrals to community programs, provide approval for mental health detentions in collaboration with law enforcement, initiate a response from mobile crisis personnel, and make referrals to other available resources.

Mobile Crisis

In some situations, Crisis Intervention may determine that a mobile crisis assessment is needed. Wood County Human Services mobile crisis service is certified under Wisconsin Administrative Code DHS Chapter 34, Subsection III. Mobile crisis responders provide onsite, in-person intervention for individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. These responders, often with assistance from law enforcement, assess individuals experiencing a crisis to determine if they are a danger to themselves or others and whether or not the person can remain safely in the community (diversion) or if they require hospitalization (detention). These responders are available from 8 a.m. to 12 a.m. on weekdays and 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends and holidays.
