individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. These responders, often with assistance from law
enforcement, assess individuals experiencing a crisis to determine if they are a danger to themselves or
others and whether or not the person can remain safely in the community (diversion) or if they require
hospitalization (detention). These responders are available from 8 a.m. to 12 a.m. on weekdays and 12
p.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends and holidays.
