The Wood County Victim/Witness Services Department is here to support victims and witnesses of crime throughout the criminal justice process. Our mission is to provide information about the rights granted under Wisconsin State Statute 950 and the Wisconsin Constitution while treating every person with fairness, dignity, and respect. Victims and witnesses have important rights under Wisconsin law. Our office is here to help you understand those rights and make sure they are respected throughout your case.
If you have been affected by a crime, you do not have to go through the process alone. Our staff is available to answer questions, explain what to expect, and connect you with helpful resources. We are committed to making sure you understand your rights and have the support you need.

If you have been the victim of a crime, Wisconsin law gives you important rights. These rights are found in the Wisconsin Constitution and Wisconsin State Statute Chapter 950. At the onset of your work with us, we would like to know your wishes. You should receive a packet, by mail, however, the documents that outline your wishes are also posted below.
