Wood County Adult Protective Services recognizes World Elder Abuse Awarenes Day on June 15, 2024.

What is WEAAD? The purpose of WEAAD is to provide an opportunity for communities around the world to promote a better understanding of abuse and neglect of older persons by raising awareness of the cultural, social, economic, and demographic processes affecting elder abuse and neglect.

We had 318 cases in 2023. Call Human Services at 715-421-4244 or fax 715-996-1022 to make a report.

Are you or someone you know interested in becoming a certified child care provider?

Wood County is in need of certified child care providers to keep up with the growing demand of working families in our community. Becoming a certified child care provider in Wood County offers many benefits. Once you become certified, you have the ability to participate in the Child and Adult Food Program, receive referral assistance, assist families utilizing WI Shares, and the convenience of working from home! Watch your grandchildren, nieces, nephews, etc. from the ease of your own home. Check out the flyer and reach out to Wood County Human Services to get started.
