CHILD PROTECTIVE SERVICES
The goal of the CPS System is to support parents/caregivers in making necessary changes to assure that their children are safe and protected.
The CPS System includes Access, Initial Assessment and Ongoing services. Access receives and documents reports of alleged child maltreatment from the community
and identifies families that the CPS system must respond to. Initial Assessment conducts an assessment of child safety and family strengths and determines whether
the child is in need of protection or services, including the need for any court intervention. CPS Ongoing Services are provided when a child is unsafe.
