Breastfeeding Services
The Wood County Health Department provides breastfeeding education, support, and resources to all breastfeeding mothers regardless of income, age, or race.
The Wood County Health Department is staffed with several professionals certified in lactation.
Public Health Services
Services below are available through the Wood County Health Department,
Monday through Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm by appointment - Call 715-421-8911 to schedule an appointment.
- Prenatal Breastfeeding Education
- Breastfeeding Consultations (home visits available)
- Breastfeeding equipment/supplies
- Rental pumps and kits - $30-35 per kit
- Breastfeeding accessories (Medela) available for purchase, upon request
- Cover-ups - $5
- Pump holders - $5
Circle of Moms: Breastfeeding Support
Circle of Moms is a support group for new parents and mothers who are breastfeeding, led by a certified lactation consultant.
- Meets on Thursdays at 10:00 AM – Marshfield Medical Center (Learning Resource Center-1st Floor)
- Circle of Moms Meeting Location (MAP)
- Breastfeeding Warmline is for parents needing support and information on infant feeding and related subjects. Call 715-389-3903.

Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Services
The goal of the WIC program is to help pregnant women, new mothers, infants and children stay healthy and strong.
Wood County WIC provides:
- Breastfeeding information and support services
- Prenatal breastfeeding education 3 times throughout pregnancy

- Nutrition information
- An eWIC electronic benefits card to buy food
- Referrals to other community resources
- Breastfeeding equipment/supplies
